| SILVER01HDW 8/11/2015 10:27:03 AM | When adding daily track notes and a trip note for the horse, is there a way for the daily track note to appear in the trouble line along with the trip note or is the only way to see a daily track note to run a report? Is there also a way to display your trip note while keeping the chart caller original comments in the display box? When I get my user ID set up, my plan is to use the trip notes solely for my own pace/speed figures. I'd like to keep the original caller comments if possible. Thank you.

In the current program version, the only way to display Daily Track Profile Notes previously created in the TripNotes Module is to run a separate report. Just so you know - I've never been happy with that and have been quietly working on creating the ability to display Daily Track Profile Notes previously created in the TripNotes Module as part of the display for individual running lines in JCapper pps. I've also been quietly working on a seriously upgraded Report Generator for the TripNotes Module. I still have a ways to go before work on these two projects are finished. I'd like to keep the original caller comments if possible."--end quote My reply: The current version of the Past Performance Generator is programmed to interpret settings persisted in both the Enhanced Settings Module and the TripNotes Module. The options available in the TripNotes Module are: a. Display TripNotes in PPs - Short Descr Only b. Display TripNotes in PPs - Complete TripNote c. Apply TripNotes Lengths Adj to Speed Figs in PPs These settings dovetail with the PPs Company Line setting in the Enhanced Settings Module. The PPs Company Line setting in the Enhanced Settings Module has to be set to 0 Company Line Not Displayed in PPs in order to enable the settings in the TripNotes Module to kick in. The point I'm trying to make is that there's already a fair amount of logic executing behind the scenes. Not everybody who uses the TripNotes Module is going to want to see BOTH the chart caller's comments AND their own trip notes in the pps. So if I am to add the ability to display both the chart caller's comments and the player's trip notes in the pps - I'm going to have to create an additional setting so that players currently using the TripNotes Module who don't want to see both have the ability to turn display of both off... and players like yourself who do want to see both have the ability to turn both on. Making that happen would take a fair amount of programming hours. My current "lean" on this part of your request is to say no. Simply put, my gut tells me there are other areas of the program that I am currently working on are where my free time and programming hours will yield better bang for the buck to the JCapper user community as a whole.
